Someday I might be able to look back on this situation and laugh.

But today was not that day.

Davis stood there in the doorway, eyebrows raised in shock as I literally came inside of Caroline, inside one of the house girls, and the orgasm was amazing—of course it was—but it was also kind of ruined by my goddamn horror of being caught in the act. Literally.

Davis closed the door quietly behind him, then said in a low voice filled with fury, “What the fuck?”

“It’s okay, I promise,” Caroline said immediately. “I said yes, it’s consensual.”

I appreciated that she was so quick to defend me, because damn, it sure didn’t look good with her hands tied behind her and me pinning her to the desk while she lay there unmoving. I knew it was because I’d given her so many orgasms she was nearly comatose, but to anyone else, it probably looked like she was lying there limply because she wasn’t enjoying it.

Davis gaped at us and I quickly pulled out of Caroline, then shoved her dress back down so her pink, hand-printed ass wasn’t bare for him to see. I quickly buttoned up my pants. Jesus, this was hands-down the last time or place I wanted to see Davis.

I tried to come up with a valid explanation for what he walked in on, as if there was one. “I—”

Davis held up a hand to stop anything I had to say, his eyes blazing with outrage. “No. No.”

I’d never heard him furious like this.

“I was hoping that you would learn the fucking truth about your father and learn a fucking lesson,” he hissed. “That it would help you see where you needed to straighten out and understand where your brother was coming from when he says you’re just as irresponsible as your father had been. And instead I find you breaking one of the cardinal rules of this house.” He pointed at Caroline, who bristled. “A house girl!? A goddamn house girl. I don’t know why the fuck I expected any better.”

Caroline huffed. “I’m right here you know.”

“How many of the others have you fucked?” Davis demanded, ignoring her.

I undid Caroline’s bindings, releasing her hands and helping her stand up straight. “Just Caroline. This is new, Davis, for fuck’s sake I never broke the rule before.”

“How the hell am I supposed to believe you?”

“Ask the other girls!” I snarled, even though I knew he had a point. “They’ll tell you—I’ve never touched any of them.”

“It’s true,” Caroline added, rubbing at her wrists.

“You shut up,” Davis growled at her, his gaze narrowing menacingly.

Caroline’s spine stiffened, her eyes flaring with indignation. “Don’t you talk to me like that you pathetic little—”

“You’re a slave,” Davis replied harshly. “We might call you house girls but we can talk to you however we fucking like. Which is why,” here he redirected his attention to me, “you aren’t supposed to fuck them! They legally belong to us!”

Technically, legally, they didn’t, since slavery was illegal. ‘Legal’ was irrelevant when it came to the mafia, but I didn’t correct Davis on that fact.
